The meaning of the
word ‘environment’ is to encircle or surround.

any two definitions of environment
Environment is a
surrounding, external conditions influencing development or growth of people,
animals or plants and living or working conditions.

Environment refers
to the sum total of conditions which surrounds man at a given point in space
and time.

are the various types of environment?
The various types of
environment are biotic and abiotic.

are natural resources?
Resources which are
drawn from nature and used without much modification are called natural
resources.

Differentiate between renewable and non-renewable resources.
Renewable resources
are those which get renewed or replenished quickly (Ex: sunlight, air, water)
while non-renewable resources are those which have a limited stock and once the
stock is exhausted it may take thousands of years to get it replenished (Ex:
coal, petroleum, mineral resources)

measures for conservation of soil
Soil can be
conserved by Crop rotation, Terracing, Contour ploughing, Afforestation.
7. Suggest
measures for conservation of minerals
Minerals can be
conserved by reuse and recycling, use of modern efficient technology, use of
CNG in vehicles, use of solar equipments.

measures to prevent soil pollution
Soil pollution can
be controlled by the following methods
- Use of proper waste disposal management
- Say no to plastic
- Proper disposal of hospital an industrial wastes
- Compost organic wastes

measures to prevent water pollution
Water pollution can
be controlled by the following methods
- Treatment of industrial liquid waste before discharging in the drains
- Proper drainage
- Proper treatment and recycling of domestic sewage before discharging.
- Control of oil spills in seas

measures to prevent air pollution
Air pollution can be
controlled by the following methods
- Curbing emission from motor vehicles
- Using CNG in vehicles
- Afforestation
- Use of filters

do we need to conserve natural resources?
We need to conserve
natural resources so that we as well as our future generations can use it.

What are the factors which cause imbalance in the environment?
The factors which
cause imbalance in the environment are Land use changes, Constructions and
excavations, Agricultural practices, Weather modification program and Nuclear
programs.

What do you mean by green economy?
Green economy is the
one that results in improved human well-being and social equity, while
significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities.
